Error Budget

Use your SLO target and error measurements to calculate remaining error budget, burn rate, and projected time to exhaustion.

For SRE teams using SLO-based practices.

What you provide

  • SLO target, service name, and observation window
  • Current error rate or service-level indicator measurements
  • Burn-rate thresholds and alert preferences

What you get back

  • Remaining error-budget percentage for the selected SLO
  • Current burn-rate signal and projected time to exhaustion
  • Alerts that help route a reliability review before the budget is consumed

Example workflow

How a team might use it

During an incident window, an SRE team calls the service with the relevant SLO target, observation window, and current error rate. REST/JSON returns remaining budget and projected exhaustion so the team can decide whether to route reliability work or pause non-critical deploys in its own release process.

Connect to your workflow

Use REST/JSON to send inputs and retrieve results from your application. Read-only MCP is available for supported services. Your team reviews the results and controls actions in its own systems.
